This weeks topic:
What features attract you (as a parent) to a Children's Book?
For example:
illustrations, certain style?
hard cover vs soft cover?
New vs the classics?
What is it that makes you pick up that book and flip through its pages?
Thanks for your time

I am initially attracted by bright colors and simple illustrations. (My daughter is 3.) Then I look for durability, as dainty little books don't stand a chance in our house. I don't have a preference whether a book is new or classic, but some of the classic stories contain topics I don't want to discuss with my daughter, like killing the bad guys. Also, I avoid all of these diva-ish books about dressing up, wearing make-up, and attracting a boy to live happily ever after because I don't want her to grow up and be like Mama. HA.
